Images of Worcestershire was set up twelve years ago by myself and my husband, David. We had been keen photographers for many years and wanted to share our photographs with a wider audience. Owning Sedgeberrow Books, our second-hand bookshop (into our seventeenth year now) gave us the ideal platform from which to display and sell our photographs.
I have been a keen photographer for many years. I first joined Tettenhall Photographic Club, Wolverhampton in the 1980's and then after moving to Worcestershire in the early 1990's I joined Kempsey Camera Club (where I am still an active member). I had eight years in the Vale of Evesham Camera Club and then decided to join Worcestershire Camera Club five years ago. David has been Chairman of Kempsey Camera Club for about fourteen years out of the last fifteen! I also submit regularly to national and international photographic exhibitions.
I achieved my Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society in 2008 with a panel of fifteen macro flower prints and David achieved his Licentiateship in 2009 with a selection of prints. A Fellowship is the next dream, maybe one day....!
We both progressed from Nikon film cameras to Nikon digital cameras, both full frame and cropped sensor, and have a varied selection of lenses, filters, tripods etc. We often get asked "you must have a good camera" and we remind people that the camera is only the tool for the job and that photographs are made by good planning, ensuring the weather conditions and lighting are right at the point of taking and appropriate settings chosen along with good composition. All photographs are taken in "Raw" format and post processed using Adobe Photoshop CC to further enhance the image, similar to working a negative in the darkroom back in film days. To ensure we have complete control over the quality of our prints, we print all our photographs using Epson professional A2 printers and paper along with Epson archival quality inks.
All our images are available for sale either via our website or through our retail shop, Sedgeberrow Books (click on the link on the homepage for more details), where a huge selection is available off the shelf.
Commissions include magazine work, a selection of framed prints chosen by a local Worcester company to grace the walls of their board room, a selection of images for use by a national house builder and a contract for the supply of images to a local hospital where our canvasses adorn each patient recovery room. We also have had a number of images featured in local calendars and diaries and have produced our own "Pershore and Bredon Hill" calendar for the last three years. The 2019 calendar is now available to purchase, either through our website or via Sedgeberrow Books, 25 High Street, Pershore, Worcs WR10 3DA.
Why not have a look at Jayne's separate website http://www.jaynewinterphotography.co.uk
featuring her monochrome and fine art photography. All these photographs are available for sale, many being offered as numbered limited editions.
